DESCRIPTION:Justine Fedronic\, art & culture coordinator of Janji apparel\, will be at the shop during our weekly community run to talk about Janji’s French West Indies collection and raffle off Janji AFO hyperlight caps. \n\n\n\nEach Janji apparel season is inspired by a different region of the world\, where the brand collaborates with local artists and nonprofit water partners to create a collection with unique designs and a tangible impact. Justine\, who is a Janji Field Team athlete\, explored her family’s Caribbean roots in her creation of the season’s designs. The designs explore the connection of Nature\, Art + Movement\, and the season’s prints and colors represent a bold\, energetic homage to the vibrant Caribbean islands of the French West Indies. \n\n\n\nJustine represented France at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the Women’s 800 meters. DESCRIPTION:Supporting Run Hub Gear Grants for track and field student athletes \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us on Saturday\, Feb 18\, for the 2023 Gear Grants Pancake Run\, a group run and pancake breakfast fundraiser for Run Hub Gear Grants! \n\n\n\nThe run will start at 9 AM at Run Hub Northwest\, 515 High Street in Eugene. Choose to walk or run 3 or 5 miles on Pre’s Trail. Afterward\, enjoy pancakes back at the shop! This is a drop-in style event\, so if you can’t make it to the run\, feel free to still join for pancakes up until 11 AM.  \n\n\n\nAsics will also be at the shop to demo the brand new Gel-Nimbus 25! In addition\, every ticket holder who attends the event will be given a raffle ticket for a chance to win their own pair of the Nimbus! \n\n\n\nYour ticket includes a meal of pancakes\, sausages (veggie option)\, fruit\, and a mimosa (alcohol free option). All ticket proceeds will go to Run Hub Gear Grants. \n\n\n\nRun Hub Gear Grants provide free running shoes and other gear to school-aged runners in need. Our Spring 2023 Gear Grants application is open\, and grants will be issued to track and field athletes in March.  \n\n\n\nA cross country runner at South Eugene High School who received a Gear Grant in fall 2022 said this: \n\n\n\n“Receiving a Run Hub Gear Grant was being allowed to have the opportunity to succeed in running … I still use the training shoes today\, they might be a bit dirty but they still are some of the best shoes I’ve ever had and some of the most comfortable. The spikes allowed me to compete at a level that challenged me and my abilities\, and since I’ve never done distance\, cross country was an immense challenge. From the start of the season\, I was running 26 minute 5Ks\, and by the end\, I was running 21 minutes. Not much\, but it was extremely important to me as I’ve always struggled with distance and it was my first year. I likely wouldn’t have had such an improvement without the help from Run Hub.”
