DESCRIPTION:Join us for one or two laps at Wild Iris Ridge on Sunday\, June 29. We’ll meet at 8am at the trailhead at the corner of Bailey Hill Road and S Bertelsen Road. The parking lot is small\, so please carpool or park in the neighborhoods nearby and walk/run to the trailhead. The lollipop loop is about 3.5 miles long with ~600ft elevation. Feel free to do one or more loops. The trail has gravel\, dirt and grass sections with views of west Eugene. \n\n\n\nAfter the run\, we’ll head to Coffee Plant Roasters for food and drink. DESCRIPTION:Meet at Hendrick’s Park parking lot (corner of Floral Hill Dr. & Fairmount Blvd) at 8am on Sun\, Oct. 27 for a 6.5-mile no-drop trail run. We’ll talk about the route\, take a group photo and get going around 8:10am. \nThis is a backyard destination trail run from Hendricks Park to Moon Mountain\, with 1\,050′ elevation gain and warm fall vibes. You’ll climb Ribbon Trail and dash over to Black Oak Basin. Then you’ll head up\, down and around to Coryell Ridge\, and get a fall morning view of Moon before looping back\, down and around to Hendricks. After the run\, we’ll head to Hideaway Bakery (3377 E Amazon Dr) for food and drink.  \nOur new trail run leader\, James Wellington will be leading this month’s trail run. We’ll be going on a trail we haven’t done before as a Destination Trail Run: Larison Creek. This is a beautiful trail that hugs the Hills Creek Reservoir. It is an out and back trail that totals to exactly a 20k if you do the entire route. It’s a relatively flat trail with a pretty steep climb at the end. After the run we’ll meet at Three Legged Crane or The Campfire for some good food and drink.If you have never been on this trail before\, this is a must do! The lush forest and easy rolling hills will make the miles fly by.Do you have a fear of getting lost on a trail? No fear here! This is the only trail in the area. There are no connecting trails. DESCRIPTION:SIGN UP FOR THE RUN SHUTTLE HERE. \n\n\n\nFor our November Destination Trail Run\, we’ll stick with tradition and head to the McKenzie River Trail! We typically do this run in December\, but are moving it up a month in the hopes of avoiding too much snow.  \n\n\n\nMeet at Run Hub at 8 AM and we’ll leave at 8:15AM to carpool to Belknap Hot Springs\, or meet us there around 9:30 AM. Horse Creek Lodge will shuttle us to starting locations on the trail for point-to-point runs ending back at Belknap Hot Springs. There will be mile options ranging 5-13 miles. You must sign up for the run shuttle ahead of time; the cost is $10.  \n\n\n\nAll paces are welcome\, including running and walking! \n\n\n\nAfter the run/hike\, we’ll go to Belknap Hot Springs for an hour soak. DESCRIPTION:Join us for our annual run and raft trip on the McKenzie River! Run on the McKenzie River Trail and then choose whether to stay for lunch and a guided rafting trip on the river. \n\n\n\nNOTE: You must sign up ahead of time for both the run and the raft trip. \n\n\n\nTHE TRAIL RUNWe’ll meet at Run Hub at 8 a.m. and leave by 8:15 a.m. to carpool to the Paradise Campground boat launch\, arriving by about 9:30 a.m. There will be people choosing just to run or run and raft\, so we can determine carpools prior to leaving Run Hub. You can also meet us there if you don’t want to carpool. \n\n\n\nTHE SHUTTLEOur friends at Horse Creek Lodge offer a shuttle service to transport us upriver from Paradise so we can do a point-to-point run with options of approximately 4.5 miles\, 7.5 miles and 14.5 miles. Shuttling is $10 to cover staffing and gas for shuttles. Sign up ahead of time (link below) to reserve your spot on the shuttle bus\, even if you’re not rafting. \n\n\n\nLUNCHAfter the 1-2+ hour trail run (depending which distance you choose)\, we’ll plan on using the picnic tables to have lunch at Paradise Campground. Note: you provide your own lunch. \n\n\n\nRAFTINGAfter lunch\, those who signed up for rafting will suit up in booties and wet suits and get going about 1-1:30 p.m. The raft trip is about 3 hours of floating on the river and includes snacks and a shuttle back to Paradise for $70. If you plan to raft PLEASE BOOK YOUR SPOT EARLY so that they can plan ahead for enough rafts and guides. The rafting cost includes your trail run shuttle fee. \n\n\n\nRegistration is now closed.

The Dead Mountain trail has it all: steep switchbacks\, lush forest\, and a great view of the Willamette National Forest at the top. The Salmon Creek Trail will connect to the Dead Mountain trail. This climbs to the top where you will have a tough but rewarding climb before bombing back down the trail! \n\n\n\nThis will be an out and back\, with suggested mileage options of 6 miles\, 12 miles\, and 18 miles. If you do the 6-miler\, you will be able to just stay flat the entire time. \n\n\n\nAfter the run we will go to Three Legged Crane for some beer and food. The brewery is only a half mile from Greenwaters park. \n\n\n\nWe will be doing some video taping during the run so if you do not want to be video taped just let me know before the run! \n\n\n\nAll levels welcome! \n\n\n\nThis is a preview run for one of the Oakridge Triple Summit Challenge races. The Oakridge Triple Summit Challenge is a 3-day stage race on the trails of the Willamette National Forest near Oakridge. The races will take place Aug. 4-6\, with each race showcasing a new trail and having over 2\,600 feet of elevation gain. Runners can register for one\, two or all three days. SUMMARY:Destination Trail Run: McKenzie River Trail
DESCRIPTION:For our December Destination Trail Run\, we’ll stick with tradition and head to the McKenzie River Trail! \n\n\n\nMeet at Run Hub at 8 AM and we’ll leave at 8:15AM to carpool to Belknap Hot Springs\, or meet us there around 9:30 AM. Horse Creek Lodge will shuttle us ($5 per person) to starting locations on the trail for point-to-point runs ending back at Belknap Hot Springs. There will be mile options ranging 5-12 miles.  \n\n\n\nAll paces are welcome\, including running and walking! If the trail is snowy\, we plan to snowshoe instead. Snowshoe rentals can be found at Berg’s in Eugene. \n\n\n\nAfter the run/hike\, we’ll go to Belknap Hot Springs for an hour soak. The cost is $8/person. Please bring a swimsuit and towel\, as well as a change of clothes\, food and water for after the run. \n\n\n\nSign up for the run shuttle here.

DESCRIPTION:For October’s destination trail run we’ll head north to Silver Falls State Park. \n\n\n\nWe’ll do the 7.2-mile Trail of Ten Falls\, which is a loop that passes a series of breathtaking waterfalls along a rocky canyon and descends to a winding creek at the forest floor. The trail has an overall elevation change of 800 feet. Dogs are not permitted on the entire trail and are only allowed on portions of the trail. \n\n\n\nWe’ll meet by the bathrooms at the South Falls Day Use Area. This will be the first time that we have explored this area\, so you will not want to miss it!  \n\n\n\nDetails: \n\n\n\n9:00 AM: Meet at Run Hub Northwest9:15 AM: Carpool to the Tahkenitch Dunes trailhead.11:00 AM: Meet at the trailhead.Directions: From Florence\, OR travel 14 miles south to Tahkenitch Dunes – Threemile Lake North Trailhead U.S. 101\, Gardiner\, OR. It is about a 90 minute drive from Eugene to the trailhead.  \n\n\n\nFrom Reedsport\, travel north for nine miles to the trailhead entrance located on the west side of the highway.1:00 PM: Everyone should be done running and we will eat at HomeGrown Public House and Brewery. Address: 294 Laurel St. Florence\, OR. 97439 \n\n\n\nThe course is a six-mile loop. There are also offshoot trails that you can take to add distance or you could do the loop twice. Dogs are not allowed on the beach\, so if you bring your dog you will have to stay on the trail sections. \n\n\n\nParking is $5/day on site\, or you can use a Northwest Forest Pass that can be purchased online. \n\n\n\nAll levels are welcome!

SUMMARY:Destination Trail Run: Dead Mountain/Oakridge Triple Summit Challenge Preview Run
DESCRIPTION:This month’s Destination Trail Run will be Dead Mountain\, located in the trail running capital of the PNW: Oakridge\, Oregon.  \n\n\n\nWe will start at the Dead Mountain Trailhead. From there\, you will have the option to run up the Dead Mountain trail\, which climbs around 3\,000 feet in 5.5 miles. The summit is well worth it though! You will be rewarded with 180 degree views of the Willamette National Forest below you. If you are planning on participating in the Oakridge Triple Summit Challenge on July 8th-10th this is the trail you will be running on during the second day of the stage race. If climbing isn’t your thing you can cross the road and run on the flat but scenic Salmon Creek trail.  \n\n\n\nIf you choose to run Dead Mountain\, it is an out and back trail that would total around 11 miles. If you do the Salmon Creek Trail\, you can do a 3- to 5-mile out and back or you can do an 8-mile loop. I will bring a map to show you the loop. All levels are welcome! DESCRIPTION:Welcome to our biggest destination trail run of the year! Come out and enjoy a run in the woods with friends and a soak in the hot springs after! Details below:9:00 AM: Meet at Run Hub for a 9:15ish departure. Car pool options will be available.10:15 AM: Arrive at Belknap Hot Springs. You can also meet us in the parking lot there at this time rather than carpool. Address: 59296 Belknap Hot Springs Rd\, McKenzie Bridge\, OR 97413.Run: Topo will be there for you to demo some shoes. We will start at Belknap and run east on the famous McKenzie River trail. The trail is closed 5 miles up due to a bridge down\, so the longest option this year will be a 10 mile out and back. If you wanted to run longer though you can always continue past the hot springs to the end of the trail and run back. That would get you an extra 3 plus miles for a total of over 13 miles. For those who want to run less simply just turn around early.After the run enjoy a one hour long soak at the Belknap Hot Springs. Cost is $8 per person. Towels are extra\, so bring your own towel. *Normally we would be shuttled to start the run\, making it point to point\, but the fires during the late summer devastated this trail and they are still cleaning up and building bridges. Sections are still closed and will be closed until the summer. Can’t wait to see you all there! This has been our biggest run in the past. In 2019 we had 58 runners. Let’s enjoy these trails we are so lucky to have.

You can choose to go anywhere from 4.5 miles to 17 miles. Details below: \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n8:00 AM: Meet at Run Hub.8:15 AM: Carpool to the trailhead.9:45 AM: Meet at Kentucky Falls Trailhead.12:00 PM: Eat lunch at Deadwood Tavern. Address: 14699 Highway 36\, Deadwood\, OR 97430 \n\n\n\nDirections to trailhead: Travel west on OR-126 for 30.4 mi. At the Whittaker Creek Recreation Area east of Mapleton between mileposts 26 & 27 turn left (south) onto Siuslaw River Rd (Forest Service Road 4390). Travel 1.6 miles and veer right at the Whittaker Creek sign and cross the bridge over the Siuslaw River. Travel this road for 1.5 miles\, then turn left onto Dunn Ridge Road. Continue on Dunn Ridge Road for 7.0 miles to a “T” shaped junction at the end of the pavement. Turn left at the T junction onto Knowles Creek Road and continue 2.8 miles. Veer right onto Forest Service Road #23 and follow for 1.6 miles. Turn right onto Forest Service Road 919 and follow for 2.8 miles and turn right into parking area. Follow signs to the trailhead.
