DESCRIPTION:For our June trail run we will be exploring the beautiful trails of Oakridge! The Dead Mountain trail has it all: steep switchbacks\, lush forest\, and a great view of the Willamette National Forest at the top. Details: \n\n\n\n9:00 AM-9:15 AM: Meet at Run Hub to carpool to Oakridge.10:00 AM: Meet at Greenwaters Park in Oakridge. Address: 48362 OR-58\, Oakridge\, OR 9746310:15 AM: We will be starting at Greenwaters park and running the Salmon Creek trail. This is a flat section. The Salmon Creek Trail will connect to the Dead Mountain trail. This climbs to the top where you will have a tough but rewarding climb before bombing back down the trail! \n\n\n\nThis will be an out and back\, with suggested mileage options of 6 miles\, 12 miles\, and 18 miles. If you do the 6-miler\, you will be able to just stay flat the entire time. \n\n\n\nAfter the run we will go to Three Legged Crane for some beer and food. The brewery is only a half mile from Greenwaters park. \n\n\n\nWe will be doing some video taping during the run so if you do not want to be video taped just let me know before the run! \n\n\n\nAll levels welcome! \n\n\n\nThis is a preview run for one of the Oakridge Triple Summit Challenge races. The Oakridge Triple Summit Challenge is a 3-day stage race on the trails of the Willamette National Forest near Oakridge. The races will take place Aug. 4-6\, with each race showcasing a new trail and having over 2\,600 feet of elevation gain. Runners can register for one\, two or all three days. SUMMARY:Destination Trail Run: McKenzie River Trail Run & Raft
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our annual run and raft trip on the McKenzie River! Run on the McKenzie River Trail and then choose whether to stay for lunch and a guided rafting trip on the river. \n\n\n\nNOTE: You must sign up ahead of time for both the run and the raft trip. \n\n\n\nTHE TRAIL RUNWe’ll meet at Run Hub at 8 a.m. and leave by 8:15 a.m. to carpool to the Paradise Campground boat launch\, arriving by about 9:30 a.m. There will be people choosing just to run or run and raft\, so we can determine carpools prior to leaving Run Hub. You can also meet us there if you don’t want to carpool. \n\n\n\nTHE SHUTTLEOur friends at Horse Creek Lodge offer a shuttle service to transport us upriver from Paradise so we can do a point-to-point run with options of approximately 4.5 miles\, 7.5 miles and 14.5 miles. Shuttling is $10 to cover staffing and gas for shuttles. Sign up ahead of time (link below) to reserve your spot on the shuttle bus\, even if you’re not rafting. \n\n\n\nLUNCHAfter the 1-2+ hour trail run (depending which distance you choose)\, we’ll plan on using the picnic tables to have lunch at Paradise Campground. Note: you provide your own lunch. \n\n\n\nRAFTINGAfter lunch\, those who signed up for rafting will suit up in booties and wet suits and get going about 1-1:30 p.m. The raft trip is about 3 hours of floating on the river and includes snacks and a shuttle back to Paradise for $70. If you plan to raft PLEASE BOOK YOUR SPOT EARLY so that they can plan ahead for enough rafts and guides. The rafting cost includes your trail run shuttle fee. \n\n\n\nRegistration is now closed.

DESCRIPTION:Join us on Saturday\, August 12\, for the 2023 Gear Grants Jackpot Jog\, a poker run and catered lunch to fundraise for Run Hub Gear Grants!  \n\n\n\nRun Hub Gear Grants provides free running shoes and other gear to school-aged runners in need. Our fall 2023 Gear Grants application is open\, and grants will be issued to cross country athletes in September.  \n\n\n\nPre-registration is required for the event. Your $25 Gear Grants Jackpot Jog ticket includes  \n\n\n\n\naccess to the poker run and post-run raffle\n\n\n\na catered lunch from Yardy Eugene\n\n\n\na drink from ColdFire Brewing\n\n\n\n\nThe run will start at 12 PM at Run Hub Northwest\, 515 High Street in Eugene. Runners will run to five checkpoints throughout downtown Eugene and will draw a playing card at each one. The run will end at ColdFire Brewing Company\, 263 Mill St.   \n\n\n\nThe object is to have the best poker hand at the end of the run! Grants are given in the spring and fall of each year.  \n\n\n\nGear grants are created with funds donated by Run Hub customers and community members and through fundraising runs such as the Jackpot Jog.  \n\n\n\nA cross country runner at South Eugene High School who received a Gear Grant last fall said this:  \n\n\n\n“Receiving a Run Hub Gear Grant was being allowed to have the opportunity to succeed in running … I still use the training shoes today\, they might be a bit dirty but they still are some of the best shoes I’ve ever had and some of the most comfortable. The spikes allowed me to compete at a level that challenged me and my abilities\, and since I’ve never done distance\, cross country was an immense challenge. From the start of the season\, I was running 26 minute 5Ks\, and by the end\, I was running 21 minutes. Not much\, but it was extremely important to me as I’ve always struggled with distance and it was my first year. I likely wouldn’t have had such an improvement without the help from Run Hub.”
