Girls on the Run leads fun\, evidence-based programs that inspire participants to recognize their inner strength\, increase their level of physical activity\, imagine their possibilities\, and confidently stand up for themselves and others. \n\n\n\n6:30-7pm: Enjoy light refreshments\, activities\, and meet the non profits working to empower high school girls in sports! Bras for Girls donates new\, high quality sports bras and breast development education booklets to girls in need\, ages 8-18. Kara first began the Fast Girl Fridays series on her instagram to bring attention to the accomplishments and experiences of high school girls in running. We’re excited to bring the Oregon edition to you live! \n\n\n\nIn her words: “I saw that high school boys were reported on more than high school girls were in the running space. There are so many amazing stories and athletes\, and I felt like they deserved to be highlighted. I want to talk to the fastest girls in the nation\, and I also want to talk to girls that have started running for the first time. The whole goal is just to show other girls that we see them\, and maybe they can help inspire each other to go out for the cross country team or go for that big goal they have in the back of their mind. I want them to see what’s possible – by seeing each other celebrated!“ \n\n\n\nKendra Coleman is a professional track and field athlete sponsored by Oiselle. She is currently focused on the Olympic Track & Field Trials in Eugene\, where she will compete in the 800. Kendra is also the Senior Administrative Coordinator at The University of Texas\, where she produces Blackademics TV airing on PBS\, and facilitates grants for education under the black studies department. DESCRIPTION:All are welcome to join us for our monthly trail run! This month\, we’ll meet at Martin St Trailhead (925 Martin St) to run a portion of the Ridgeline Trail. We’ll have a moderately hilly 5-mile route with the option to add on a few more miles if you’d like. Run\, walk or do a combination of the two! This route starts with a mile uphill followed by a mile or two of rolling terrain before we’ll turn around at Dillard Rd and head back down to Martin St. Refuel after the run with coffee and pastries from Hideaway Bakery. SUMMARY:McKenzie River Run & Raft
DESCRIPTION:**Save the date for our annual run and raft trip on the McKenzie River!** \n\n\n\nRun on the McKenzie River Trail and then choose whether to stay for lunch and a guided rafting trip on one of Oregon’s most scenic rivers!  \n\n\n\n *Meet at Run Hub at 8-8:15 to carpool to Paradise Campground (57489 McKenzie Hwy\, Blue River) or meet at Paradise Campground parking lot around 9:30am.  \n\n\n\nOur friends at Horse Creek Lodge will provide the shuttle and guide the raft trip.  \n\n\n\nThe Shuttle will transport you upriver from Paradise Campground to do a point-to-point run with 4-5\, 7-8\, and 14-15 mile drop off options. The shuttle is $10 per person but free if you decide to do the rafting portion as well. All paces are welcome to run or hike the trail. Please bring your own water and fuel for the day. It will be warm on the trail and there isn’t access to drinking water on the run. \n\n\n\nAfter lunch (not provided)\, those who signed up for rafting will suit up in optional booties and wet suits and get going about 1-1:30 p.m. The raft trip is about 3 hours of floating on the river and includes snacks and a shuttle back to Paradise for $70. \n\n\n\nSign-up is required. DESCRIPTION:During these hot days\, being well hydrated is important (especially on the run). On Wed\, July 31 come to the shop to test out a variety of hydration options\, including Skratch sports drink mix\, Ucan hydrate\, Gu Roctane and Nuun sport for exercise. We’ll have a variety of drink mixes ready for you to sample and garnish with a lemon or lime. Come a little early to sample drinks\, or grab one after the community run/walk. \n\n\n\nAfter you grab a drink\, we’ll head out for a 3 or 5-mile run/walk along Pre’s Trail and the river path. All paces are welcome.  \n\n\n\nAll nutrition will be 20% OFF during this event\, so stock up for your summer adventures!
