SUMMARY:Destination Trail Run: Dead Mountain/Oakridge Triple Summit Challenge Preview Run
DESCRIPTION:This month’s Destination Trail Run will be Dead Mountain\, located in the trail running capital of the PNW: Oakridge\, Oregon.  \n\n\n\nWe will start at the Dead Mountain Trailhead. From there\, you will have the option to run up the Dead Mountain trail\, which climbs around 3\,000 feet in 5.5 miles. The summit is well worth it though! You will be rewarded with 180 degree views of the Willamette National Forest below you. If you are planning on participating in the Oakridge Triple Summit Challenge on July 8th-10th this is the trail you will be running on during the second day of the stage race. If climbing isn’t your thing you can cross the road and run on the flat but scenic Salmon Creek trail.  \n\n\n\nIf you choose to run Dead Mountain\, it is an out and back trail that would total around 11 miles. If you do the Salmon Creek Trail\, you can do a 3- to 5-mile out and back or you can do an 8-mile loop. I will bring a map to show you the loop. All levels are welcome! Let’s enjoy this beautiful Sunday on the trails with friends!After the run we will meet at 3 Legged Crane Brewery for some tasty drinks and food. SUMMARY:McKenzie River Run & Raft with Hoka
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our annual run and raft trip on the McKenzie River! Run on the McKenzie River Trail (while demoing the Hoka Speedgoat 5) and then choose whether to stay for lunch and a guided rafting trip on the river. Our Hoka rep Kara will be there with snacks and beverages post run as well as some raffle giveaways! \n\n\n\nTHE TRAIL RUNMeet at Run Hub at 9am\, leaving by 9:15am and arriving at Paradise Campground boat launch around 10:30am. There will be people choosing just to run or run and raft\, so carpools can be decided prior to leaving Run Hub. Don’t forget to bring water and fuel with you for the run and a change of clothes for afterward.  \n\n\n\nTHE SHUTTLEHorse Creek Lodge will transport us upriver from Paradise so we can do a point-to-point run with options of 6 or 12 miles. The shuttle is $5 and pays for the staff and gas to shuttle us. Register here! \n\n\n\nRAFTINGThose who also signed up for rafting will suit up and get going about 2-2:30 p.m. The raft trip is about 3 hours of floating on the river and includes a shuttle back to Paradise. Those who are rafting should use promo code RunhubRNR on the when you sign up (on the traveler information section) to save $5. The raft trip is $75. DESCRIPTION:For August’s Destination Trail Run\, we will be heading southwest to the Oregon Coast\, specifically the Dunes area. This will be the first time that we have explored this area\, so you will not want to miss it!  \n\n\n\nDetails: \n\n\n\n9:00 AM: Meet at Run Hub Northwest9:15 AM: Carpool to the Tahkenitch Dunes trailhead.11:00 AM: Meet at the trailhead.Directions: From Florence\, OR travel 14 miles south to Tahkenitch Dunes – Threemile Lake North Trailhead U.S. 101\, Gardiner\, OR. It is about a 90 minute drive from Eugene to the trailhead.  \n\n\n\nFrom Reedsport\, travel north for nine miles to the trailhead entrance located on the west side of the highway.1:00 PM: Everyone should be done running and we will eat at HomeGrown Public House and Brewery. Address: 294 Laurel St. Florence\, OR. 97439 \n\n\n\nThe course is a six-mile loop. There are also offshoot trails that you can take to add distance or you could do the loop twice. Dogs are not allowed on the beach\, so if you bring your dog you will have to stay on the trail sections. \n\n\n\nParking is $5/day on site\, or you can use a Northwest Forest Pass that can be purchased online. \n\n\n\nAll levels are welcome!
