We’ll also have a short marathon trials trivia challenge\, so study up! 😉 \n  \nBrett Ely\, 4-time Olympic Trials marathon qualifier\, 2011 Pan American Games marathon qualifier\, marathon PR: 2:38:55\, PhD student in human physiology at UO. SUMMARY:Foam Rolling\, Stretching & Mobility Class
DESCRIPTION:Starting Sunday\, February 21st at 11am\, Run Hub is offering a foam rolling class\, taught by Kristen Tucker of MobFit Studio\, for eight weeks leading up to the Eugene Half and Full Marathon. The class is one hour long and focuses on releasing tight muscles using foam rollers and other mobility tools such as lacrosse balls\, tennis balls\, stretching straps\, and specific stretches designed to target the areas where runners get tight! \nParticipants will feel results instantly as tension releases in the muscle tissue\, but the more they practice this flexibility training they will also begin to recognize the longer term results of how a regular flexibility/mobility training program will speed their daily recovery\, decrease the occurrence of and treat old injuries\, and significantly increase their performance on the road and trail! Participants will also take away many tools and tricks that they can use daily at home to help them stay safe\, strong\, and fast on their runs. \nThe class is open to the community and participants will need to bring a yoga mat. Even though the class is designed for runners\, ANYONE is welcome! Participants are encouraged to bring friends and family members to the coolest running store in Eugene. Classes are $10 to drop in\, or $50 to sign up for all eight weeks. For those signed up for the Team Run Hub training program\, this is included in your training plan. \nClass is 11:00 am-12:00 pm at Run Hub on the following Sundays: \nFebruary 21\, 28 \nMarch 6\, 20\, 27 \nApril 3\, 10\, 24 \n  \nA bit about Kristen… \nI’m a certified personal trainer who is dedicated to helping clients maximize their well-being through unique mobility work\, self fixes\, exercise and healthy eating. I have a bachelors degree in Exercise and Health Science from Kennesaw State University\, a Level 1 CrossFit Certification\, and for 3 years I studied at the Subtle Muscle Testing Institute under Dr. Camden Clay\, DC\, and Dr. Shawn Murray\, DO\, in Atlanta\, GA to receive my certification in Clinical Subtle Muscle Testing and Assisted Yoga Stretching from Thai Massage. \nIn 2004 I started a private personal training practice that I ran for 6 years\, working with over 300 clients ranging in age from 18-74. In early 2008\, I developed a client base for Assisted Yoga Stretching therapy and began using Clinical Subtle Muscle Testing and Self Quick Fixes on my clients with great success! Upon moving to Colorado in 2011\, I restarted my unique bodywork practices and opened CrossFit WestCo\, which I owned\, operated\, and coached at for three years. \nIn March of 2015\, I moved to Eugene\, Oregon where I have restarted my bodywork practice. I am coach at CrossFit Intensify where I do private training sessions\, teach group fitness classes\, and also mobility classes. I also teach a class called “Strength and Conditioning” at Sweaty Ganesh Yoga. In addition\, I teach weekend workshops for those who seek to learn Targeted Muscle Testing and Quick Self Fixes. \nI love riding bikes of any kind (especially mountain bikes)\, hiking\, CrossFit\, yoga\, and dancing. I’m also a total foodie and LOVE cooking and eating clean. Gluten free cooking and Paleo baking have lately become two of my latest and greatest pastimes. When I’m not doing that you might find me riding my bike with my dogs\, reading a book by the fire\, or playing in my garden.

SUMMARY:Bend Beer Chase Relay Night + Group Run
DESCRIPTION:Who doesn’t love the idea of running in Central Oregon paired with enjoying tasty local brews? Join us for a Bend Beer Chase Relay night where we’ll have information about the relay\, beer from 10 Barrel Brewing Co\, raffle prizes and discount codes for relay team registration! \n  \nWe’ll be adding this to our usual Wednesday night community run fun\, so come out\, do your 3 or 5 mile run (or walk) and get pumped for the relay. And because this is the night before St. Patrick’s Day\, wear GREEN! There will be a costume contest (prize up for grabs)\, so get creative! \n  \nABOUT THE BBC:\nThe Bend Beer Chase is a one-day six-person running relay of approximately 70 miles\, consisting of 12 legs of varying distance (4-8miles per leg). The course starts from Bend\, travels to Redmond\, to Sisters and back to finish in Bend. On a 6-person team\, each person runs 2 legs; On a 3-person team\, each person runs 4 legs… you get the idea. \n  \nThe relay starts at Worthy Brewing on the east side of Bend. Teams of 6 or less will set off on the relay portion towards Redmond\, Sisters and then back to Bend. Once a team completes the relay portion of the race in Bend near downtown then the race changes to a team run for the last “Keg Leg“. Vans will park near downtown and no longer be a part of the race. Runners then follow the remaining Keg Leg course with stops at 6 breweries along the way. The finish line will be at Crux Fermentation Project. After enjoying the finish line festivities\, we will provide a shuttle back to your race vehicle left at Crows Feet Commons. \n  \nThe 3rd Annual Bend Beer Chase is Saturday\, June 4th. For more info on the relay\, click here.
