The trail is soft single track that follows the creek\, surrounded by a beautiful forest. The parking lot is small\, so please carpool or park in the neighborhoods nearby and walk/run to the trailhead. The lollipop loop is about 3.5 miles long with ~600ft elevation. SUMMARY:McKenzie River Run & Raft
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun day on the McKenzie River! Meet at Run Hub at 7:45am on Sun\, Aug. 3 to carpool to Paradise Campground (57489 McKenzie Hwy\, Blue River) or meet at Paradise Campground parking lot around 9am.  \n\n\n\nOur friends at Horse Creek Lodge will provide the shuttle and guide the raft trip.  \n\n\n\nThe shuttle will transport you upriver from Paradise Campground to do a point-to-point run with 4-5\, 7-8\, and 14-15 mile drop off options. The shuttle is $10 for gas and staffing of the drivers. All paces are welcome to run or hike the trail. Please bring your own water and fuel for the day. It will be warm on the trail and there isn’t access to drinking water on the run. \n\n\n\nAfter lunch (not provided)\, those who signed up for rafting will suit up in optional booties and wet suits and get going about 1-1:30 p.m. The raft trip is about 3 hours of floating on the river and includes snacks and a shuttle back to Paradise Campground for $70.  \n\n\n\nSign-up is required. Students must be enrolled in a track or cross country program at a Eugene/Springfield school or a sanctioned youth running program within Eugene/Springfield. Grants are given in the spring and fall of each year to students who would not otherwise be able to purchase their running shoes and gear.

SUMMARY:Beginner 5K Program: First Practice
DESCRIPTION:Are you interested in running your first or second 5K? Our fall Beginner 5K Training Program returns on Sat\, Sept. 6! \n\n\n\nOur 12-week training program is geared towards beginning runners and those returning to running. Certified coaches will provide guidance and suggestions for weekly training as we build toward running the Run to Stay Warm 5K. Participants can expect to start with walking and jogging and build toward continuously running for at least 5 km.The first practice is on Saturday\, September 6\, at 8:30 AM. We will meet weekly on Saturdays to run and will have an occasional guest speaker. Saturday time commitment will be from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30-9:45 a.m. but may end closer to 10:00 a.m. on days that include guest speakers. The YMCA will be the primary practice location\, but local parks and trails will also be utilized. Participants will receive a free t-shirt\, complimentary socks\, and a discount at Run Hub for the duration of the training program. \n\n\n\nReturning runners will have the option to do an intermediate workout on Saturdays. \n\n\n\nCost is $75 for YMCA members and $85 for non-members. The registration cost does not include the Run to Stay Warm registration fee. \n\n\n\n\nRegister here
