SUMMARY:Destination Trail Run: Dead Mountain
DESCRIPTION:For our June trail run we will be exploring the beautiful trails of Oakridge! The Dead Mountain trail has it all: steep switchbacks\, lush forest\, and a great view of the Willamette National Forest at the top. Details: \n\n\n\n9:00 AM-9:15 AM: Meet at Run Hub to carpool to Oakridge.10:00 AM: Meet at Greenwaters Park in Oakridge. Address: 48362 OR-58\, Oakridge\, OR 9746310:15 AM: We will be starting at Greenwaters park and running the Salmon Creek trail. This is a flat section. The Salmon Creek Trail will connect to the Dead Mountain trail. This climbs to the top where you will have a tough but rewarding climb before bombing back down the trail! \n\n\n\nThis will be an out and back\, with suggested mileage options of 6 miles\, 12 miles\, and 18 miles. If you do the 6-miler\, you will be able to just stay flat the entire time. \n\n\n\nAfter the run we will go to Three Legged Crane for some beer and food. The brewery is only a half mile from Greenwaters park. \n\n\n\nWe will be doing some video taping during the run so if you do not want to be video taped just let me know before the run! \n\n\n\nAll levels welcome! \n\n\n\nThis is a preview run for one of the Oakridge Triple Summit Challenge races. The Oakridge Triple Summit Challenge is a 3-day stage race on the trails of the Willamette National Forest near Oakridge. The races will take place Aug. 4-6\, with each race showcasing a new trail and having over 2\,600 feet of elevation gain. Runners can register for one\, two or all three days. SUMMARY:Destination Trail Run: Larison Creek
DESCRIPTION:For this month’s destination trail run we’ll be heading to one of our favorite places: beautiful Oakridge\, home of over 500 miles of trails. We’ll be going on a trail we haven’t done before as a Destination Trail Run: Larison Creek. This is a beautiful trail that hugs the Hills Creek Reservoir. It is an out and back trail that totals to exactly a 20k if you do the entire route. It’s a relatively flat trail with a pretty steep climb at the end. After the run we’ll meet at Three Legged Crane or The Campfire for some good food and drink.If you have never been on this trail before\, this is a must do! The lush forest and easy rolling hills will make the miles fly by.Do you have a fear of getting lost on a trail? No fear here! This is the only trail in the area. There are no connecting trails. Just simply run\, and turn back whenever you like. Most importantly\, enjoy the trail!Details:9:00 AM-9:15 AM: Meet at Run Hub NW to carpool to the trail.10:15-10:30 AM: Meet at the Larison Creek Trailhead. Parking is limited so I recommend carpooling. Directions: From Eugene\, go through the entire town of Oakridge and take a right on Kitson Spring Road and then another right on FR 21.
