SUMMARY:The Science of Running Better and Injury Free + Community Run
DESCRIPTION:Come hear elite runner & Altra founder Golden Harper share his story and participate in a clinic on debunking running myths and understanding the science that will help you become a better\, injury free runner! This is a hands on workshop for all runners and is not an Altra shoe clinic. \nSchedule\n5:30 p.m.: Golden introduction \n6 p.m.: Golden will lead a short clinic focusing on how to run faster and injury free. This will transition into our community run. Refreshments will be provided after the run! \n7-8:30 p.m.: Golden will lead a discussion on myths vs science regarding running surfaces\, foot pain\, cushioning\, pronation and more—and how these topics may or may not be related to injury and how to apply the knowledge so you are still running strong at age 80 and beyond! \nGolden will also raffle off a pair of shoes and some swag during the event. \nSome background on Golden: He began running marathons at a young age. When he was 12 years old\, he ran the St. George Marathon in 2:45:34\, setting a world best. He went on to win two Cross Country State Championships and record top finishes in many mountain races\, including winning the Jupiter Peak Steeplechase. In addition\, Golden grew up working in his family’s running store. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science.

Our On rep Cary will be back to demo shoes and lead you in a fun event called Shortcut to a Runner’s High! \nHow does it work? It’s all about taking the shortest route. The run will start at Run Hub but your destination will only be revealed right before you start (it won’t be more than a few miles there and back). And instead of counting minutes and seconds\, we’re counting miles. The person with the lowest distance will win a pair of the brand new Cloudflows! After the run we’ll enjoy some brunch goodies back at the shop. \nWe will use Strava to assess your mileage\, so join the Run Hub Northwest club on Strava! \nEveryone who participates in the run will also get $10 in Run Hub Bucks to use in the store!

DESCRIPTION:Join us for our regularly scheduled community run and our first Wednesday night back on Pre’s Trail. On will be here with demo shoes that you can wear on the run. This run will also be a prediction run! It has been many long winter months since we’ve run on Pre’s Trail for our Wednesday night runs. Can you remember how long it takes you to run the 3- or 5-mile route? No watches or phones allowed\, and the runner who finishes closest to their predicted time will win a prize! The run will begin at 6 p.m. All paces are welcome!
