Are you new to running and want to reach your first finish line? We’re kicking off a Beginner 5K training program on Saturday, April 22, that is aimed at getting athletes ready to run the Butte to Butte 5K on July 4!

This 10-week program is $60 and will include Saturday morning practices at 9am led by coaches Connie Gardner (newly certified through Road Runners Club of America) and store owner and experienced coach Dustin Pearce. In addition to in-person practices, you’ll receive a weekly training plan, discount coupon for shoes and gear at Run Hub, a technical team shirt and socks, and camaraderie and support of your teammates and coaches. All paces are welcome, including run/walking!

Some March Madness this morning, runner style. The March Mile Madness titles were taken home by Wiley Watts in 4:47 and Jenn Randall in 4:51. The winners take home a pair of the all new Hoka Rocket X2. Thanks to everyone for participating and to Hoka for sponsoring our March Mile Madness.

It’s not every day you get pointers from an NCAA champion and record holder @jorindevanklinken. It was a nice opportunity at the kids try-it clinic put on by @oregontf on Friday evening. It’s the kick-off to the spring track & field season, starting with the Oregon Preview meet on Friday and Saturday, March 17-18.

Happy St.Patrick’s Day ☘️

This Saturday, March 18, is our St. Paddy’s Day RunVenture with Brooks! ☘️ It starts at 1 PM at the South Eugene track, where we’ll demo the Brooks Hyperion Max and Oofos recovery shoes. The run/walk will start at 2PM, during which you’ll solve a series of limericks to find gold coins hidden in south Eugene. Those coins will be turned in for raffle tickets for the chance to win great prizes! We’ll finish at Drop Bear Brewery for food, drink and a raffle, including a pair of Hyperion Max, Brooks St Paddy’s themed apparel, Tifosi sunglasses and more! Plus, there will be a costume contest for best dressed in green - Winner gets a Run Hub gift card! 🥳

⭐️Whether you want to compete for a top spot in the North, South, East or West region or just want to participate, you have the chance to win a pair of carbon-plated Rocket X2s! The championship 1-mile race will be held in-person this Sunday at 9am (south side of Autzen footbridge near Peace Health bike rack).

The Segments:
1️⃣ North: Begins at the intersection of Willagillespie Road and Cal Young Road and travels east on Cal Young toward Oakway Road.
2️⃣ South: Begins on the Rexius Trail at the intersection of E Amazon Drive and Dillard Road and travels north to Hilyard Street.
3️⃣ East: Begins at the Booth-Kelly Trailhead in Springfield and travels east on the Mill Race Path toward South 28th Street.
4️⃣ West: Begins on the Fern Ridge Path at the intersection of Greenhill Road and Royal Avenue and travels southeast through the Meadowlark Prairie.

Let’s get ready to rumble! 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏻This Sunday, our Hoka-sponsored March Mile Madness challenge returns for the chance to win a pair of the new Hoka Rocket X2!

🏀We invite you to run a series of mile segments in Eugene/Springfield on your own between March 5-11. The fastest people to run each segment will advance to the Elite 8 Championship, for a chance to run a fifth segment in person on March 19.
Disclaimer: For Run Hub to track your segment time, we will be using the Strava segment user board. Your activity will only show up on Strava user boards if your account is public at the time of your run.

MORE INFO:
🔹There are four Strava mile segments in four regions of Eugene/Springfield. You may compete on any or all of the segments! For each segment you run, post a screenshot of your activity on social media, tag @runhubnw and @hoka, and you’ll receive a raffle ticket into our drawing for a free pair of the all new Hoka Rocket X2. Two pairs of the Rocket X2 will be raffled off!

🎽On March 19, the fastest people (two male and two female) to run each segment will advance to the Elite 8 challenge for a chance to run a fifth segment (to be announced) and compete to win the March Mile Championship. The champions will each win their own pair of Rocket X2!

The Segments:

Do you want to run trails tomorrow? Join us for our monthly destination trail run at Tahkenitch Dunes on the Oregon coast! Meet at the shop at 9am to carpool, or meet at the Tahkenitch Creek trailhead around 10:30-10:45am to start the run. All paces are welcome. We’re keeping our destination trail run local this month with a run/hike at Wild Iris Ridge tomorrow at 9 AM! Enjoy views of Spencer Butte and the West Eugene Wetlands while traveling through upland prairie and oak habitat.

We’ll meet at 9 AM at the trailhead at Bailey Hill Road and S Bertelsen Road. This lollipop trail is 3.5 miles and includes lots of elevation changes. Choose to do the loop twice if you’d like more mileage! Dogs on leash are welcome. Afterward, we’ll head to Gryff’s Pub on Bailey Hill Road for breakfast!
